2D Landscape Plans

for Client Presentation

Every project begins with the Landscape Concept Plan. Once you’ve added this plan to your order, you can then select any of the others as “Add-ons”.

The Landscape Concept Plan covers the overall schematic layout of your design including hardscape and softscape areas around the property. We will include basic notes and labels as nominated by you on the sketch you send, as well as standard landscape drawing conventions such as a title block with your logo and contact details, a north arrow and scale bar.

The Planting Plan & Schedule Add-on neatly lays out the planting design nominated by you, labelled with relevant plant codes and reflected in the Planting Schedule. All species, quantities and installation sizes must be provided by you for inclusion on the drawing.

We will ensure a different symbol is used for each tree, shrub or groundcover and put these into a legend on the drawing. It is possible to substitute the legend with photographs of each species, provided by you for inclusion on the drawing.

The Quantities Plan Add-on is an effective way to save (literally) hours of time in getting your project ready to be costed. We will calculate the surface area of each component of your design as well as the relevant lineal distances for elements such as fencing, edging and coping.

Each quantity or distance will be clearly marked on the drawing, making it easy to transfer the numbers to a costing spreadsheet.

Please note: We do not calculate volumes (m3) or face surface area, eg. the vertical face surface area of a wall. However we will provide the surface area and lineal distance of such items.

The Lighting Plan Add-on is a great one for helping clients and contractors think ahead about where lighting could make a difference in the landscape and, just as importantly, where things like switches, transformers and general purpose outlets could be installed.

We will prepare a schematic drawing that shows the locations of the different types of fittings as nominated by you on your concept sketches along with a legend describing each symbol used on the drawing.

The Layout & Dimensions Plan Add-on is a simplified drawing that focuses on the layout of paving, decking, steps, walls, fences, screens and garden beds. We will provide schematic dimensions detailing the perimeter dimensions of each area of your design.

While this plan is not intended for use in construction, it can certainly assist in helping landscapers and contractors gain an overview of the project and to commence the initial set out of the design on site.

The Sections & Elevations Add-on helps clients visualise how an element of the design will look from a vertical perspective.  It can be an important drawing for structural items such as pergolas, swimming pools, water features, outdoor kitchens or BBQ areas.

We will draw up to 2 sections & elevations.  You will need to draw the section line on your plan and provide a basic, neat sketch of the detail so we can replicate this in CAD for you.  Sketches are required so our team has a clear direction on what you expect to see on the drawing.

for Development Approval

The Landscape Plan for Planning Approval is a standalone plan that is typically submitted to a local council, together with plans for approval of a new house or housing development. We are able to include standard application requirements such as Landscape Notes, Tree & Shrub Installation Details, Tree Protection Notes & Schedule, Drainage Overlay, Contours, Easements and other restrictions.

The specific details of all these items must be provided by you in order to appear on the drawing. We have standard text for the Landscape Notes and Tree Protection Notes that you may customise, or provide your own as a substitute.

The Schematic Boundary drawings comprise a location plan and site plan showing the full title boundary and location of the relevant section of boundary treatment requiring approval. We can also prepare elevations of the relevant section of the boundary that clearly describe the style of walling or fencing proposed, with dimensions, maximum heights and visual permeability shown.

The Schematic Wall drawings comprise a location plan and site plan showing the location of the relevant wall requiring approval. We can also prepare sections / elevations of the relevant wall that clearly describe the style of wall proposed, with dimensions, maximum heights and materials. However, this is schematic only and engineering details would still be required.

The Schematic Swimming Pool and/or Spa drawings describe the general on-site arrangement of both your proposed swimming pool and/or spa and the required safety barrier in relation to the title boundary. The drawings comprise a location plan and site plan showing the full title boundary and location of the proposed pool and/or spa.

We can also prepare longitudinal and cross section-elevations that schematically illustrate the shape of the shell and its relationship to the nearest boundaries and built structures. We will include relevant dimensions such as the depth, waterline and edge beam and show any additional structural features such as a wet edge and gutter.

The Schematic Overhead Structure drawings describe the general on-site arrangement of structures like pergolas, patio covers, flyover roofs, arbours, carports and virtually any other kind of overhead structure proposed in your design. The drawings comprise a location plan and site plan showing the full title boundary and location of the overhead structure and its relation to the house and boundary.

We can also prepare section/elevation drawings that schematically show the composition of the structure in terms of heights, falls, materiality, indicative member sizes and offset from the nearest boundary, easement or affected structures.

The Build over Easement Application drawings describe the general arrangement of the structure you’re proposing to build over the easement and its relationship to any affected water/sewer authority assets. This includes items such as swimming pools, spas, building foundations and walls. It is essential that you provide relevant notes or documentation from the relevant authority as to the acceptable offsets from their assets in order to maximise your chances of approval.

We can also prepare section/elevation drawings that schematically show the alignment of the easement, required offsets, and the vertical position of the authority assets in relation to your structure.

The Schematic Timber Decking drawings show the size and extent of the decking structure proposed in your design. The drawings comprise a location plan and site plan showing the full title boundary and location of the deck and its relation to the house and boundary.

We can also prepare section/elevation drawings that schematically show the composition of the structure in terms of heights, natural ground levels, materiality, and offset from the nearest boundary, or structures.
